We often hear that the most enjoyable part of recreational team sports is the recreation. Just being a part of a team and experiencing the practice, teamwork and camaraderie of it all is one of the more rewarding aspects. Lots of the fun in being on a team occurs off the field, especially after a game or event when teammates can kick back and enjoy each other’s company without having to stretch or sweat!
So when Smokey Bones Bar + Grill approached us last December (through their wonderful marketing agency Push) with the goal of reaching rec teams and leagues in local markets where they had restaurants, Sportsvite was excited by the opportunity.
Fast forward to RIGHT NOW and the Smokey Bones Bar + Grill campaign is in full effect in over 30 markets with over 25 participating league partners. In many of the designated markets, Sportsvite already had partnered with the major rec leagues or sport & social clubs and in a few markets we developed new relationships that we hope will continue to develop as Sportsvite grows.
Local rec leagues are already pretty good at planning post-game activities and Smokey Bones made it even easier by providing great restaurant discounts, gift cards that league’s could award to teams, promotional banners to hang at fields and web banners to promote online. In addition, local Smokey Bones store general managers have gone the extra step to make league organizers, teams and players feel welcome and appreciated.
Sportsvite loves these kinds of partnerships because it’s a win-win-win-win. It’s a great deal for Sportsvite, Smokey Bones is introduced to new customers through a unique program, league organizer’s receive sponsorship, and teams and players get great deals and specials and a welcoming place to go after games.
We’re hoping this program continues to thrive in existing markets as well as grow in new markets. If you play sports near a Smokey Bones let us know about it - we’d love to hear from you!
