International Rugby Visits NYC Metro Area

Rugby is a great sport with a great culture and tradition that sometimes gets overlooked in the United States. If you’ve seen the movie Invictus or the recent ESPN 30-for-30 documentary “The 16th Man” you’ll quickly get a taste for how powerful and influential the sport of Rugby is throughout the world.

While Rugby might be considered a niche sport here in the USA, Sportsvite has a solid rugby community with hundreds of rugby players in many cities. Sportsvite also have profiles for clubs such as the Metropolitan New York Rugby Union, Southwest Rugby Union (El Paso, Texas), Search for rugby players in your neighborhood or post a bulletin to join the action.

Professional world-class rugby action is coming to our own backyard as the new Red Bull Arena (Harrison, New Jersey) is hosting the Churchill Cup Finals on Saturday June 19th. Earlier rounds will be played in Glendale, Colorado in early June. The finals will include three matches featuring six international teams including the USA Eagles and England Saxons. This is the first time an International Rugby event has been hosted in the NY Metro area.

For all you rugby lovers, or those out there in SV Land who are interested in learning more about the sport, Sportsvite has partnered with rugby promoters to offer specials ticket discounts and even has some free duckets to give away to our members.

Be sure to hit us up directly if you want to get your hands on some tickets. Also, be on the look out for rugby contests and promotions in the Sportsvite Weekly email newsletter.
